An Act of Love!
Preschoolers are in a stage where they are learning to share and think of others. This may not come naturally for them. A great way to practice loving others is to make something for someone else. Here is a fun idea for using your broken crayon pieces to make something fun together-crayon hearts.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Silicone mold (most craft stores sell the heart shape one used here)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Take the broken crayon pieces and place them in the silicone heart shaped mold. Bake them for 10-12 minutes. Let the cool for about 15 minutes, then pop them out!
Have your child think of a few people that they love and want to give the heart shaped crayons to. Put the cards in a ziplock or white lunch bag. They can even decorate the bags! You could add a small candy too. Talk with your child about loving God and loving others while you are doing this activity. You could also challenge your child to think of someone who might not feel loved and encourage them to give them a card.
