Teaching Babies to Love!
Teaching young toddlers about love is important to do in a very practical way. They are too young to grasp abstract ideas that they can’t practically put their hands to. One way you can teach them what love looks like is during playtime with dolls or stuffed animals. My daughter loves Paw Patrol and has a Chase stuffed animal that she carries around with her. When we play with Chase, I talk about being gentle with him, feeding him, petting him, and talking nicely to him. For example, “Harper, can you get Chase some food?” and when she pretends to feed him I tell her “thank you, Chase feels so loved when you feed him.” Using playtime as teaching time works great with young toddlers to show them practical examples of care and love.
