Picture Album Prayers
Praying with our children is one of the most important ways we share God’s faithfulness with them. Prayer is better “caught” than “taught”- this means if we want our children to know and understand prayer, then we need to begin praying with them from the very beginning. Find a picture album of family members, or use photos hanging on your wall, and pray over each picture. The prayers can be simple such as: “Thank you, God, for Grandma.” “God, thank you for protecting Aunt Sherry and keeping her safe.” “Dear God, please help our cousin Jason to have a good day at school today.”
This is a good way to teach your child the names of different family members who they may not see as often, as well as show them how to pray for other people. And of course, you can pray for your child at this time as well!
