Here’s a fun activity you can do with your kids that will help them learn about gratitude. To do it all you’ll need is some markers, a printer, scissors, and some glue. Simply print out the pictures we’ve included below and have your kids cut out the turkey and the feathers. You may want to print a few copies of the feathers depending on how the activity goes. On each feather have your child write down something they are thankful for, anything from what they ate that morning to their best friends at school. Write a few examples yourself to show them just how much we have to be grateful for. Then glue the feathers to the turkey, make sure you only use feathers that have something written on them. Use this to teach them that gratitude is like the feathers on the turkey, without them it’s still a turkey, but it’s much better looking with the feathers. Being grateful works the same way in our lives, being grateful makes us more beautiful to those around us. Without gratitude it’s easy to see ourselves as plain ole turkeys. But when we take account of all the things we have in our lives to be grateful for, when we begin to count our feathers, we see how blessed we truly are.
